Weimar Republic - 1920s - "New" Women "
The new woman sat herself at the wheel of her car, smoked cigarettes, wore bob and knee-length skirts. She was young, unconventional and could be found in everyday urban life. However, it was only a very small, elite part of the female population that could live this new self-image of women and afford the latest fashions, cultural and leisure activities, which were reported in magazines like "Die Dame" or "Elegante Welt".
