What to do in the garden in spring
Remove last year's leaves from the beds and lawn, cut off old shoots from bushes. Plants grown from seed in mini-greenhouses or on the windowsill can now be pricked out and planted in small pots for their later grand entrance into the prepared vegetable or flower bed. If this is too time-consuming, you can also buy larger seedlings from a gardener. Scarify the lawn with a rake to remove old grass and moss and then treat it to a spring fertiliser. In early spring, annual flowers can be used to create colourful accents in the garden.
