World Dog Day: Famous Dogs
Four-legged friends on the screen like to steal the show from their two-legged fellow actors. Dog Uggi starred in the Oscar-winning film "The Artist". He also appeared in "Water for the Elephants" and "Spoiled for Choice". One of the most famous movie dogs is Lassie. In films and series, the long-haired collie played its way into the hearts of the audience. In fact, the figure of the clever dog was "played" by different animals. The Japanese Akito dog Hachiko stands for loyalty in Japan. After death he remained loyal to his master and touched the hearts of Richard Gere's side in "Hachiko: A Wonderful Friendship". Talking pug Frank caused a laugh, at the side of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in "Men in Black 2".
