WR - Parties - Centre Party
The Centre Party, officially the Zentrum, was a Catholic-oriented political party in the Weimar Republic, which provided the Reich Chancellor four times between 1919 and 1932. It championed the interests of the Catholic population and played a decisive role in the formation of coalition governments in the unstable political landscape of the Weimar Republic. Although the Centre generally advocated a democratic order, it cooperated at times with conservative and monarchist forces to ensure political stability.
