The German Democratic Party (DDP) was a liberal political party in the Weimar Republic that championed democratic principles, the rule of law, and political stability. Despite its involvement in the drafting of the Weimar Constitution, internal divisions and broader political challenges constrained its influence within the Weimar political landscape. As time progressed, the party faced difficulties in countering the emerging political extremism that ultimately contributed to the destabilization of the Weimar Republic.
