Two weeks after the DFB: Referee Zwayer also out of the World Cup.
For referee Felix Zwayer, the 2026 FIFA World Cup has come to an early end. After officiating two group-stage matches with composure and authority, the 45-year-old is leaving the tournament and will not be assigned any further matches during the final weekend. The DFB confirmed that Zwayer has already left the referees' base.
