2022-06-03 – Vor 30 Jahren: UN-Umweltkonferenz in Rio de Janeiro
Vom 03.- 14. 06.1992 fand in Rio de Janeiro (Brasilien) die Konferenz der Vereinten Nationen über Umwelt und Entwicklung (UNCED) mit Vertretern aus 178 Ländern statt. Sie wird auch als "Konferenz von Rio", "Umweltgipfel" oder "Erdgipfel" bezeichnet und gilt als Meilenstein in der Geschichte des Umweltschutzes. Seit dem UN-Umweltgipfel von Stockholm 1972 war es die erste größere internationale Konferenz, die Umweltfragen in einem globalen Rahmen diskutierte. Nachfolgekonferenzen waren Rio+5 (New York, 1997), der „Weltgipfel für nachhaltige Entwicklung“ (“Rio+10“, Johannesburg, 2002) sowie „Rio+20“ (Rio de Janeiro, 2012).
