Die Kubakrise 1962

Die Stationierung weitreichender sowjetischer Raketen auf dem mittelamerikanischen Inselstaat Kuba vor der Küste der USA führte die Welt im Oktober 1962 an den Rand eines Atomkrieges. Am 14. Oktober 1962 hatte ein US-Aufklärungsflugzeug Raketenanlagen auf Kuba fotografiert, in deren Reichweite praktisch alle Städte der USA lagen. Der US-Präsident Kennedy verhängte darauf am 22. Oktober 1962 eine Seeblockade und forderte den Abbau und die Rückführung aller sowjetischer Raketen und Abschussanlagen auf Kuba. Nach Tagen des diplomatischen Tauziehens lenkte der sowjetische Ministerpäsident Chruschtschow am 28. Oktober 1962 ein.
