Hongkong lockt Besucher mit Gratis-Flugtickets
Die chinesische Sonderverwaltungsregion Hongkong will nach dem Ende der strikten Corona-Maßnahmen mit einer Charmeoffensive Touristen zurückgewinnen. Regierungschef John Lee kündigte am Donnerstag an, dass von März an 500 000 kostenlose Flugtickets an Besucher aus aller Welt verteilt werden sollen. Die Tickets sollen über lokale Fluggesellschaften erhältlich sein. Weitere Freiflüge seien für Hongkonger und Besucher vom chinesischen Festland reserviert. Mit einer groß angelegten Kampagne will Hongkong wieder ins Rampenlicht zurückkehren. Die Hongkonger Zeitung «South China Morning Post» sprach von umgerechnet 255 Millionen US-Dollar (rund 231,7 Mio Euro) für die gesamte Kampagne.
