Der britische Sänger Johnny Rotten, eigentlich John Joseph Lydon, wurde am 31. Januar 1956 in London geboren. 1976 erlangte er größere Bekanntheit als Mitglied der provokanten englischen Punkband "Sex Pistols". Nach deren Auflösung im Jahr 1978 rief er das experimentelle Post-Punk-Projekt "Public Image Ltd" ins Leben.
