Redgrave, Vanessa (geb. 30.01.1937)
Die britische Schauspielerin Vanessa Redgrave wurde am 30. Januar 1937 in London geboren. Als Mitglied einer seit Generationen der Bühne verbundenen Familie sammelte sie früh Erfahrungen am Theater sowie bei Film und Fernsehen 1967 gelang sie als Jane in Antonionis Kultfilm "Blow Up" zu Weltruhm. Mit dem Oscar wurde Redgrave 1978 für "Julia" ausgezeichnet. Als Film- und Fernsehschauspielerin wirkte sie an mehr als 130 Produktionen mit. Daneben engagiert sie sich die Trotzkistin aktiv in der Politik gegen Nuklearwaffen, den Vietnamkrieg, gegen Russlands Tschetschenien- und Israels Palästinenserpolitik und als UNICEF-Botschafterin. Aus ihrer Ehe mit dem Regisseur Tony Richardson stammen die Töchter Joely und Natasha, die 2009 nach einem Skiunfall starb. 2006 heiratete sie den Schauspieler Franco Nero, 37 Jahre nach der Geburt des gemeinsamen Sohnes Carlo Gabriel.
