Trauerfeier und Beisetzung von Prinz Philip

Die königliche Familie nimmt Abschied von Prinz Philip. Queen Elizabeth II. und Mitglieder der Royal Family folgten dem Sarg des Prinzgemahls zur Trauerfeier auf Schloss Windsor. Landesweit erinnerten die Menschen mit einer Schweigeminute an den Herzog von Edinburgh, wie Philip im Vereinigten Königreich genannt wird. Die königliche Residenz Windsor war weiträumig abgesperrt. Scharfschützen postierten sich auf Hausdächern. Wegen der Corona-Pandemie hatten Behörden und Palast die Bevölkerung aufgerufen, nicht nach Windsor zu reisen und die Zeremonie am Samstagnachmittag im Fernsehen zu verfolgen. Prinz Philip war am 9. April im Alter von 99 Jahren auf Schloss Windsor gestorben. Aufgrund der Corona-Vorschriften dürfen nur 30 Gäste an der Trauerfeier teilnehmen. Dabei handelt es sich um enge Verwandte des Herzogs von Edinburgh.
