Am 17. Juni 1994 wurde ein weißer Ford Bronco, gefahren von Al Cowlings mit O.J. Simpson an Bord, auf der Autobahn von Los Angeles von Polizeiautos verfolgt. Simpsons Ex-Frau Nicole Brown Simpson und ihr Freund Ron Goldman waren damals vor ihrem Haus in Los Angeles erstochen aufgefunden worden. Simpson wurde nach der Verfolgungsjagd verhaftet.
