Are you looking for a specific image from the dpa Picture-Alliance? Use the image-to-image search via the ‘Search with image’ button next to the search field. Upload your reference image via drag-and-drop or file upload to check whether the desired image is available. If the image you are looking for is not there, we will be happy to help you. Contact us at servicedesk@picture-alliance.com – through our partners, we have access to numerous archive treasures that are not always fully available digitally.

Inspiration without keywords

AI-based similarity search

Would you like to be inspired or search for motifs that resemble a specific image? Our AI-supported similarity search makes exactly that possible – without having to enter any keywords. Use the green camera icon in the top right-hand corner of each image or upload an image using the ‘Search with image’ button, just like with the image search. Find creative, editorial or historical content that is thematically or visually similar – easily, quickly and intuitively.

People search

People search: ‘Specific people’

Are you looking for photos showing one or more specific people? Thanks to artificial intelligence, you can search our portal for current or historical motifs featuring people from contemporary history. If you have carried out a general search, you can enter one or more names in the second step using the ‘Specific people’ filter in the filter bar on the left. The selected personal names will narrow down your search results to the matching hits.

Search filters for refinement

AI filters

Once you have carried out a search, you can refine your results. Use the filters (in the filter bar on the left). Do you want a picture inside a building or an outdoor shot, do you not want to see a person or a certain number of people in the picture? Are you looking for pictures with a certain colour or in a certain style such as an aerial view, frog perspective or long exposure? You can set these parameters and many more in the filter bar on the left. The options for gradation are varied and should help you to find the right motif for your purposes.
